Using scene lingo

Scene phrases:

-Rad
-Stellar
-The sex
-Pwn

Do NOT use these words:

It's so annoying when scene kids talk like Paris Hilton. You should talk like Dani Gore or Dahvie Vanity.

Here's some tips.

Breakout artists you should know by now

Ladyhawke, Hey Monday, Four Year Strong, Go Audio, Yelle, Breathe Electric, Valencia, Dr. Acula, and Son of Dork.

SO '08 ARTISTS:
Katy Perry (I love Katy but I'm so tired of hearing I Kissed a Girl and Hot n' Cold) , Lil John, Tyga (Sorry dude, but your 15 minutes need to hurry up and be over), Fergie, Lady Gaga (Does anyone know any of her songs besides Just Dance?), and Jessica Simpson (country now, seriously???).

Scene in Spring

As we all know, in 2008, the "big" colors were fuschia, purple, gold, yellow, and green. But what colors are big in 'o9, you might ask? According to www.fashiontrendsetter.com, the big colors in Spring 2009 will be fuschia, salmon, turqouise, seafoam, yellow, olive, lavender, green, grey, and rose. They also say the prominent colors (they colors used most) will be lavender, celery, blush, and beige. So what clothes should you buy to fit these colors?

Totes are going to be HUGE in 2009. I already got mine. It's an Andy Warhol Campbell tomato soup tote. Sooo cute. Other cute totes that are in style this year: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/nodePage.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028561&bmUID=1231783768506

Belts are another thing that's going to be popular. Especially at your waist instead of in your belt loops.

According to fashion experts, the key looks of '09 will be...Drum roll please...See-through a sheer fabrics, fringed clothing, one shouldered tops, Grecian dresses, butterflies, jewel encrested clothing, stomachs showing, and fairy tale inspired clothing.

My ideas for trends are: vintage swim suits (like from the '40s and '50s), tank tops, rockabilly, mod a line dresses, the color gold, and jumper skirts.

According to scene and emo websites, they say the trends of 2009 will be checker pattens, striped hoodies, cat ear hoodies, leg warmers, over knee socks, spiders, comic inspired clothing, trilby hats/fedoras, animal print skinny jeans, and vintage t-shirts.

So '08 trends to stay away from this year: Skinny jeans, Twilight (LET IT DIE ALREADY!), and Razrs (I admit I used to have one, but they are SOOO old!).

How to be scene at church

Ok, so a lot of scene kids ARE religious and need to know how to look scene and still be modest enough for church. Here are a coupe of basic outfits that you can get ideas from.

OUTFIT #1:

http://www.betseyjohnson.com/store/productdetails2.aspx?productid=6417&np=2500 A great black skirt will get you everywhere. This Crinoline skirt by Betsey Johnson runs $190 and is super cute.

http://shop.pacsun.com/girls/tanks/Leopard-Boyfriend-Tank/index.pro This is an animal print tank by Nollie. Leopard print is not only super scene but also really cute.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/37950217/c/3.html Pair this cardigan over your tank for spring or fall.

http://www.payless.com/Catalog/productdetail.aspx?ItemCode=64140&ProductColor=Black&DescriptiveColor=Black&Width=Regular&TLC=Girls&SLC=GirlsCasual&BLC=GirlsCasualCasual Use these flats to finish the look.

For extra scene points, wear lots of cute jewelry to customize your outift. Since I doubt you'd wanna wear Hello Kitty and dinosaurs to church, try something like an anchor or a spider.

OUTFIT #2:

http://www.8ballwebstore.com/cupcakedress.aspx This is a super-cute cupcake dress. It makes any scene girl feel like she's 8 again.

http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/red-white-striped-ballet-flats-retro.html They're retro flats with a sailor vibe. What more could you ask for?

DON'T FORGET: You don't have to buy these exact outfits. They're great for ideas. You can also change up the looks by using different jewelry or wearing bows or headbands in your hair.
